Gemma Leslie is an Australian artist, illustrator and designer based in Melbourne, Australia.

Her work is largely inspired by the simple pleasures of everyday homescapes, with a particular focus on food. Working primarily in paint mediums, her style is imbued with playful simplicity, characterised by organic silhouettes, vibrant colour, and naïve still-life scenes.

With a background in graphic design and marketing, she has flourished in her second career as an artist, currently piecing together her first solo exhibition while working on private commissions.

Through her experience as an art director, Gemma has overseen major campaigns for leading fashion and lifestyle brands. She continues to work on select brand identity and design projects.

In August 2020, Gemma’s renewed focus on art and unrelenting love of food culminated in her business, Food For Everyone. Through Food For Everyone, Gemma collaborates with esteemed chefs, cooks and restaurateurs, transforming their dearly-held recipes into culinary posters.

I am also the founder and artist of a culinary poster shop Food For Everyone was born out of a simple love for sharing food with family and friends. The act of coming together over a meal is universally binding—a common language we all share. Shaped by individual cultures, perspectives and stories, food is intrinsically diverse—and we think that’s something to celebrate!

Through food, we uncover new ways of seeing, new experiences, and new connections. Food is happiness. Food is fun. And food is for everyone. I donate 10 meals for every poster sold to food banks around Australia.
